Al Raffah Hospital Muscat Inaugurated The 40-bed hospital will be expanded to 100 beds in the second phase Muscat-based Al Raffah Hospital, the second private sector hospital in the Sultanate of Oman, was recently inaugurated by Vayalar Ravi, Cabinet Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs. The hospital, with 40-beds in initial phase, will be expanded to 100 beds in the second phase. The overall investment will be around Omani Rial (RO) 5 million. The diagnostic facilities include a 6 slice CT, 3D/4D ultra sound scanners, well equipped laboratory with exclusive facilities for visa medical screening. Emergency Care with fully-equipped ambulance is available round the clock. The hospital has a special cell for taking care of the patients requiring advanced tertiary care treatments in its super speciality hospitals in India like MIMS Hospital, Kozikode where the cost of such treatments are much lesser than most of the European or Western Countries with high expertise and skills, and the patients will be benefited from comprehensive medical care given under one umbrella. The AMC is currently recruiting new staff from Hyderabad. “We will be getting new nurses, paramedics, technicians, super specialty consultants and the like from the Apollo hospitals in India,” Sandeep said, noting that the new recruits will take the total number of staff to 75, including doctors. Shifa al Jazeera Medical Group building two Muscat hospitals The medical group is planning to build two 100-plus-bed super-speciality hospitals in Ruwi and Al Khoud, reports the Muscat Daily. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Health Facilities Infrastructure Oman conference, T P Ahmed, regional general manager of Shifa al Jazeera Medical Services, said: “We are going ahead with your plan. Our first hospital will come up in Ruwi and construction work will start probably in a month’s time. We are also in the process of acquiring land in Al Khoud for the second hospital.
